ALTIBASE, Pushing Ahead to Establish a Joint Venture with Australia’s Matrix Data

ALTIBASE announced on the 18th that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Matrix Data, an Australian company.

The core of this partnership is to create a data environment that is independent from U.S. technologies and U.S. jurisdiction. Today, many countries rely heavily on U.S. cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

The two companies plan to establish a joint venture to build a sovereign data infrastructure that will allow Australia to maintain full control over its national data.

The ALTIBASE–Matrix Data joint venture will operate under a “structure outside U.S. jurisdiction,” centered around their Korean and Australian entities, addressing cloud dependency and data sovereignty concerns.

Because the solution uses no U.S. technology, it is free from U.S. legal influence, enabling Australia to fully control its own data.

In sectors where national security is critical—such as defense and aerospace—the most important criterion is “Who can access our data?”

ALTIBASE says that providing a solution completely outside of U.S. hands is a significant competitive differentiator in these markets.

According to ALTIBASE, the joint venture will deliver solutions that meet all four major security and compliance standards required in Australia and international markets, including:

IRAP (Information Security Registered Assessors Program)

Compliance with CLOUD Act considerations for lawful use of overseas data

Neutrality regarding ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)

SOCI Act (Security of Critical Infrastructure Act)

The two companies plan to initially target Australia’s defense, space, public sector, and energy industries, and subsequently expand into other Five Eyes countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand.

Hyerena Park, CEO of ALTIBASE, stated:

“This MOU goes beyond a simple technical partnership. It is a strategic alliance aimed at helping Australia and the Five Eyes nations truly protect and control their national data. Together with Matrix Data, we will set a new standard for data infrastructure in defense, space, public, and energy industries.”
