Altibase, Korea's leading hybrid DBMS company, has achieved significant results in Thailand's public cloud market through collaboration with local partner DepthFirst.

On the 17th, Altibase announced that it successfully won the Thailand Department of Local Administration (DLA) LTAX (Local Land & Building Tax) system project, following close collaboration with DepthFirst since their strategic partnership in April.

This project marks a case where Altibase was adopted as the core DBMS for Thailand's LTAX system, which manages local taxes including land and building taxes. Unlike most of Altibase's previous overseas projects, which were secured indirectly through Korean companies, this project is particularly significant as it represents Altibase's first direct overseas public sector project win.

Thailand's LTAX system is an integrated digital system built by Thai local governments to systematically manage Land & Building Tax. Thailand enacted the "Land and Building Tax Act" in 2019 and has been implementing a new taxation system since the following year, imposing taxes on all land and building owners or users.

This law represents a modern tax system that consolidates the previously complex house tax, land tax, and development tax, applying differential tax rates based on the appraised value of land and buildings. Accordingly, local governments are responsible for annually updating asset information, calculating tax amounts, notifying taxpayers, and managing payments and delinquencies.

The LTAX system is establishing itself as a core foundation system for Thai local tax administration, overseeing functions including: △ land and building owner/user database management △ tax calculation and notification based on appraised values △ electronic payment (e-payment) and collection management △ delinquency and penalty calculation and tracking △ regional tax revenue analysis and forecasting △ data integration with central government systems.

With Altibase supplying the DBMS for the LTAX system, Korean-made DBMS has emerged as the backbone of Thailand's public tax infrastructure.

DepthFirst, collaborating with Altibase, is an IT solutions and systems integration specialist headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. The company demonstrates strengths in cloud-based infrastructure, big data, and public IT system construction. Through this collaboration, DepthFirst will actively participate with Altibase in the Thai government's digital transformation and public cloud expansion projects, with plans to expand their collaboration scope to various industry sectors.

Building on this achievement, Altibase plans to accelerate its entry into public and private markets in Thailand and Southeast Asia. As the first project since establishing Altibase SEA (Southeast Asia) branch, it is expected to serve as a starting point for securing various references and expanding global public sector presence.
