Altibase Unveils 3-Year Technology Roadmap...Next-Generation Distributed Cluster to Launch in 2027

As South Korea’s leading in-memory database management system (DBMS) provider, Altibase is taking bold steps to expand its presence in the global market with a strategic roadmap spanning from 2025 to 2027. This roadmap is designed to meet the rapidly evolving demands of domestic and international markets while embracing advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
The roadmap focuses on four core technology pillars:
△ High-performance, large-scale in-memory processing
△ Cloud-native database functionality
△ AI agents and vector database integration
△ Distributed cluster technology
Starting in the second half of 2025, Altibase will resume support for Windows OS — a feature previously discontinued after version 7.1 — significantly improving user accessibility.
To solidify its position as the market leader in in-memory DBMS, the company plans to continuously enhance its high-performance data processing capabilities. In the first half of 2026, Altibase will release an upgraded version that further strengthens large-scale in-memory data processing.
This version will also introduce:
Multi-model support with a new JSON data type, enabling more flexible and scalable data structures
A dedicated connector for Apache Kafka, facilitating seamless integration with real-time data streaming environments and enhancing data consolidation across platforms
Multi-model support will empower enterprises to handle diverse data types within a single database, streamlining complex data architectures while maintaining high performance — especially in cloud-native deployments.
In addition, a standalone distributed cluster product will be released in the first half of 2026. By distributing data across multiple nodes, it enables ultra-fast processing of massive datasets while providing high availability and fault tolerance — ensuring stable operation even in the event of node failures.
A key highlight of the roadmap is the advanced distributed cluster version, scheduled for launch in the first half of 2027. This next-generation solution is designed to deliver ultra-high-speed processing of large-scale in-memory data while supporting complex SQL queries — a major competitive advantage over NoSQL and document databases that often fall short in this area.
Altibase aims to directly challenge dominant players such as Redis and MongoDB, positioning its next-gen solution as superior in both performance and stability.
To meet the demands of the AI era, Altibase will also offer:
Dedicated connectors for vector database integration to handle unstructured data
Database-native AI agents capable of interfacing with both private and public AI models
These features are strategically aligned with the rise of generative AI and large language models (LLMs), delivering an optimized database environment for AI-driven applications.
Altibase is also accelerating its global expansion. The company is actively targeting the Southeast Asian market, particularly Indonesia and Thailand, and is conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with local governments and public sector institutions. Partnerships with ERP providers and school management system vendors are also being explored, laying the groundwork for substantial local business growth.
